Get whatever makes YOU happy with your truck. It's not a huge low end loss with true duals and as stated an X-Pipe will help remedy this. True duals is absolutely a good power gain, but don't remove the cats. If you want to do something with the cats buy some Long Tube Headers that come with High Flow cats.

Why not remove the cats? and high flow cats are dyno proven to show no or little results compared to stock cats. why waste of money

I have a 2006 4.6l, and did the cat deleat, added the O2 simulators, added a Flowmaster SISO with a 4" stainless tip. WOW is this mother loud Obnoxious just like me!LOL. Actually felt a bit more torque and revs higher to. The worst part of removing the cats for me is the fumes I get now that the cats aren't removing them.

im looking for a nice sounding exhaust, when you removed the cats is it annoyingly loud?

I have a flowmaster super 44 muffler and when i took my cats off and welded straight pipe it gave it a louder/meaner sound, not obnoxious or annoyingly loud either

just got home from exhaust shop. Installed SIDO side exit with magna flow muffler and no cats. Sounds amazing!!:thumb up: i definitely feels like a lost some lower end torque though.

Default A Curve Ball?

Been reading all about the exhaust issues and now I feel a need to let ya'll know what sort of mess is under my 96. The guy I bought it from last month said he had a "new" cat installed. No issue there but just a wee bit closer the engine is the suspected problem. Between the stock piping at the engine and the cat is a 4" section of pipe going into a 3" inlet to the cat and on to the Flowmaster with dual outlets. I believe I am losing all kinds of low end torque but it also feels like the high end is also suffering. I'm not a exhaust scientist or anything, but, this just doesn't look right.
