Tires without Lift/Level
Hey all Im wondering what peoples experiences are with putting larger tires on with out a lift or a level.. What size can you safely go up to without needing a lift?? I am running pirelli scorpoins right now but want to switch to something a little beefier and with a more aggresssive tread without doing a lift. is this even possible??

Is your truck a 4x4 and what diameter wheels do you have. I ran 305x55x20(33.2x12.6) at stock height on my 4x4 Lariat with no problems.
Yes its a 2012 FX4. not sure on current diameter of wheels though i will have to look into that. thanks! |
If you call tire rack, they will tell you exactly how big you can go. I have used them on every vehicle for rims and tires. I will go to 20' inch rims with 9 inch wide on my FX2. I have never had any problems with clearance or rubbing on any vehicle when I used them.

I'm running 305/55/20 nitto terra grapplers without a level. No problems here. I did buy a leveling kit, but just haven't had time to install it.
2010 fx4. |
I have an 07 xlt and I have 33 in nitto'a on it. No lift or level and I kind of feel like an absolute idiot with the setup so I bought a 2.5 in level. But to all surprise with the set up I have right now without the level, the tires fit all around the wheel well even fully turned without rubbing. I have a strong feeling it's rubbing at times while in drive just through common sense... but once again to all amazement I haven't heard a thing.
