I currently have this cherrybomb exhaust system on my 4.6 '09 F150.

It comes with chrome 2.5 tips which I would like to black out. If I got 3 inch black tips would the sound be louder/deeper? It has a nice rumble to it but I definitely wouldn't mind if it was louder. What tips would you recommend?

Tips don't change the sound.

Yes they do, the sound echos in the larger tips.

I wouldn't have believed it myself but years ago my brother put exhaust on his truck but didn't have money for tips at that time. Rode for a few weeks then went and had tips installed and it changed the sound a good bit.

Personally I'd go with a 4" tip. It won't make it louder but it will echo more making a deeper tone.

OK thanks for your help! Are brands a big deal in exhaust tips or not? Theres quite a few different brands and I'm not sure which I should be looking at

Brand really doesn't matter, just make sure it's stainless not chrome. Personally I like double walled tips.

i put dual 3" stainless rolled tips on my truck a few months ago...they look good!
and they will last forever
