It's depends on the sub/subs you will buy, wiring etc.

Maybe you should start with the speakers and start saving some for a new sub and amp?

Ok so I'm going to order the alpines but should I replace the factory wiring for the speakers or what wiring do I have to buy for the speakers?

did you put in a new radio? (head unit) or are you using the factory one? If you're planning to amp everything, it's my best guess through all of the reading and research I'm doing that you get an amp for the subs, and a seperate amp for your "normal" speakers... the subs will require far more power to run than your mids and tweets... rough rule of thumb SEEMS to be about 3:1 (minimum ratio) i.e. 25 watts rms to your 4 speakers and 75 watts rms to each sub... (again, this is a roguh general rule of thumb I'm opining based on all the reading I've been doing lately on this exact thing)

hope this helps a little...

I have an aftermarket stereo with 25 RMS x 4 channels. I have a Kicker CVT 8 sub with 200 watts RMS and a solo channel amp with 290 RMS. It has a preamp input and output but does that mean that I can connect another amp to it so that I only have to wire one to the battery or what?

Should I replace the factory sub enclosure or should I just use that one? This is one of my main problems?

Honestly?? You may be overdriving your kicker if it's only rated at 200 watts RMS and your amp is putting out 290... ya might want to consider getting something to make a better match... amp or sup.. probably be less expensive to upgrade the sub to a 300(RMS) or better... instead of a high dollar amp... but I guess if you wanted to go high dollar on a sub, it's possible...

it's not necessarily the enclosure, but the woofer itself... the enclosure is just the box the woofer is housed in... go to amazon and search for "8 inch subwoofer" you'll find plenty of deals on numerous names... Kenwoood, kicker, Pyle, JBL, Polk, Infinity, Legacy, Pyramid... some are good, some are "ok" and some make nice conversation pieces...

Hope this helps...

Ok so the box is just like any other box. I don't have to replace it? I just don't want my Kicker sounding the same as the factory sub.
