Default Are speaker upgrades worth it? 502a package

Audio guys -

I have a 2017 Lariat 502a, with the "upgraded" Sony system. I know this is a far cry from a "good" system by those who get into this stuff; but, I'm wondering if swapping speakers would make much of a difference?

If "yes" - are there recommendations?

If "no" - is there anything you would do to this system to improve the sound?

Thanks.

YES.

Morel Tempo Ultra 602's in the front. Just wire them up in the factory location. No need to use the supplied crossover. The Sony amp/dsp already takes care of that. Don't worry about replacing the rear speakers either. They are only there for fill.

Just replacing the front components will make a huge difference in output and clarity.

Speaking of "rears are there for fill" do you fade your speakers to the front? If so, how much?

What did you do with the center channel? Did you replace that also? Really interested in hearing from others that just replaced the speakers, the B&O sound is just not great. I would like to replace all of them if possible.

I went with JL c2 650 components in the front and JL c2 350x for the center. I actually have an extra one if you're interested.

Did you mount the tweeters in the A pillars or the doors. If the pillars, did you need to fabricate anything for the install?

I actually left the factory tweeters. I don't have the sony/b&o so I would have needed to either run wires to crossover or installed inline.. But you will need to get a universal tweeter mount and do some minor fab to get it to fit in the A pillar.

Small off-topic question because he said he doesn't have the Sony or B&O system; did you notice a big enough difference between just upgrading the speakers to justify the cost? I'm upgrading from my 2015 F150 XLT to a 2018 XLT today (possibly) and have always thought the stock MFT system (7 speaker) sounded great but I love music so increasing the quality would be great.
