Default SCT X3 for 2010 5.4L

Pulled the trigger and ordered a X3 from Mike @ 5Star Tunning. He emailed today and let me know it will be out the door Fed Ex tomorrow. Two day turnaround time. I've ordered the 87 Performance, 93 Performance & 87 Tow for the tunes. I don't tow anything, nor plan to, but I've been around long enough to know plans change.

I've seen a lot of good things said about 5Star on different forums & they're running a special now if you're a member of the fordf150 forum (group buy).

I'm getting excited to see how things go....

He, he... I love the ideas I'm getting here, but, they can be a bit expensive. I do think making the truck "mine" by tweaking some things means I'll keep it longer and take better care of it.

Any more info on the group buy? What's the group price? Link?

$356.00 out the door w/3 custom tunes. I'll post when I get it so you guys can get a feel about delivery times.

I've never had canned or custom tunes before, but, with that in mind I'll post what I think about it.

Talking First tune's done!

I agree Ken@SCT, Mikes a good guy. I ordered my SCT X3 Monday (early) and received it on Thursday. Great turnaround time, IMO. When it arrived at the house I had an X3 with cables (as expected) and a folder w/instructions for installing the custom tunes, a copy of the manual Mike had printed off, "No Start" instructions (didn't happen to me), SCT Catalog, 5 Star Tuning sticker, & a coolie w/5 Star logo. Being a newbie w/a tuner I appreciated the instructions & I used them. The X3 package also had a sticker on it informing me that the X3 was already up to date so I didn't have to do this. Anything a newb would be wondering about was addressed. Took about 40 minutes start to finish to install my first tune.

Regarding the tunes, I'm running 87 performance at the moment and I really like what he's done. Quick starts if you want / need them and the truck's definitely more responsive when you "hit the gas". The truck's definitely more fun to drive. I had a question for Mike this morning via email and he answered me within a 1/2 hour give or take. While I really like the present tune, I'm going to change over to the 93 performance tune as soon as I run the gas out of my tank to see what it's like. I expect some improvement, but, I'm guessing that the biggest change will be from stock to 87 custom tune that I've already done?

Glad to hear you're enjoying the tuner. Your post above is proof positive of the level of customer service our dealers provide. Just another reason why SCT continues to be the leader in flash programmers.

mWags... I would suspect that the 93 octane tune will make a noticeable difference from the 87 as well.
