S&b cold air intake installed
 

Just had an installer put on this S&B cold air intake. I think it looks really good on here. It is not very loud over stock but is supposed to flow more. Exhaust next by Borla, then probably a tune from Livernois. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...9968e73eb2.jpg

Looks like you have a 3.5Ego? Did the CAI affect the turbo whine at all?

A little bit, but not much at all. I'm sure it helps air flow but it is not load at all. Plus it looks awesome. I have a question for you as well. How loud is that Stype Borla? I can't decide between it and the touring borla exhaust.

Ya, it does look good, I'm looking to get some whine without going to catted downpipes.
On this 3.5, it's louder at idle than it was on my 5.0. Not sure on the outside other than idle. Inside it can barely be heard when accelerating, plus there is ZERO drone. I think you'd like the SType. It really doesn't sound ricer ricey either. It's a good sound, not obnoxious at all. ;)

I had an Airaid on my 5.0, and on a built 7.3, and they are good. What I like about that S&B is it's totally enclosed. No matter which CAI I go to, I'm gonna have to update my tunes then.
On my 7.3, I don't know if it increased whine or not, I put it in at the same time I put in a Wicked Wheel and larger downpipe. Yep, you could sure hear that turbo!!!:D

Nice.. I am also considering this CAI for my Lariat. I know difference in performance from just a CAI is minimal but did you notice anything?

No, not really, but I'm planning to get a tune and borla touring exhaust, so wanted it on there because I think the combination of all that will for sure help. It will benefit from the CAI at that point. But just this alone I can't feel any difference. A little more turbo whine when you get on it, but that's about it. Quality piece though I think. I did not install it, had a local 4x4 shop put it on for me.
