Roush by Fox 2.0 Suspension kit?
 

Hi everyone,

I'm considering purchasing the Roush by Fox 2.0 Suspension kit for my 2018 XLT. I currently have a 1.5 inch strut spacers to lift my nose up a bit and fit my 33's, but am interested in getting some better performance - mostly on-road comfort.

Is this a worthy investment to improve on-road ride comfort, or is this more for improving off-road capabilities?

I did try finding threads about the Fox 2.0 coilover setup but wasn't able to, probably user error on my end. When I search for it it shows a ton of random threads with pages of posts - I did dig through these for a bit but figured I'd just make a post myself.

I drive 27 miles to work every day and there's about a 10-15 mile stretch of some bumpy highway. Do you think this suspension would make that stretch a bit more comfortable?

I recently installed this set up on my RCSB and after adjusting the coil overs which were very stiff as delivered I love them. With between 1.5-2" lift you will be good. I got closer to 3" lift and it rode like a tank. It really does ride perfect now with just the right amount of firmness. JUST BEWARE, the Fox 2.0 coil overs aren't adjustable while mounted. The adjustment ring is below the spring and not the typical spanner type. If you have moderate mechanical skills and are installing these yourself, no problem. I found removing and adjusting to soften them up pretty easy but you will need a shop press which I picked up from Harbor Freight for $99. Not trying to scare you off, this set up has better on road manners and is much improved over stock for mild off roading. Most people don't seem to need to adjust them but I did.

The suspension is only part of the equation. New larger, heavier tires add to the mix of the truck's performance The ride of the Fox 2.0 coilovers coupled with the larger Nitto Ridge Grapplers LT 285/70R18 (an E rated size tire) is perfect for my driving preferences - firm, yet comfortable and controlled. I am more than happy with my set up. As far as raising or lowering the Fox set-up - I'll never bother with them. Set it and forget it.

My understanding is that adjusting the coil overs to have less of a lift, increase the softness of the suspension = smoother on road comfort. is that correct? After comparing this system to others like falcon and icon, I think I'm going to pull the trigger on these. They seem to have the best feeback for on-road comfort. Question about adjusting the lift amount on them.. If I want the end result to be 1.5-1.75 inch of lift on 3.5 EB, what should I set them to before installing?

Looking for different price options, looks like every retailer has these at $1250.99 - is this what you guys paid? Are there any vendors on this forum that might be able to give a discounted price?

Regarding adjustment you are correct, loosening the collar in my case gave a little sag in the front suspension which eliminated the speed bump top out clunk I had. The difference was night and day. As I said I got 3" lift after original install and after loosening the collar 13 turns each side it lowered the front a full 1" which is perfect for my truck. Also made a big difference in the axle shaft angles, this is more important than most people want to believe to avoid problems down the road. I'm not sure it increases the softness that much but that is a good thing, the firmer than stock ride is what you want and the reason it feels more controlled. Regarding adjusting before install I don't know what to tell you. My truck being a RCSB may be the reason I had an issue.? Most people don't admit / seem to have a problem so I would install the way they arrive. I'm just sharing my experience so you don't feel like you made a mistake if they don't seem perfect after the initial install. axle shaft angle, it was noticeably worse before lowering the front. I previously posted some where that trying to adjust these collars under spring tension is Bad News, don't do it...

I pulled the trigger on these from stage 3, they had a $60 coupon for purchases above $1000. I'll update when I have them installed!
