Why roll ups? I've been looking at getting one, but I'm looking at a folding cover.

Looking at covers as well. I like the prices of the roll ups. But like the security of the trifolds. Which ever way I go though, I want to get a good one that will last. Not just the cheapest one I can find. Any ideas?

Still digging my Roll-X Basically a hard cover that lets you roll it up out of the way to load stuff without having to take anything off.

How much room does a hard roll up takie in the front side of the box?

The Roll X sits on top of the bed, so it doesn't take up any room in the bed when rolled up. It is probably 12" or so in diameter when rolled up, so if you wanted to put a fridge or something tall against the front of the bed, you would have to remove the 4 wing nuts that hold it in place.

@tisigwing, another concern is the ice and snow with our freezing temperatures here in Wisconsin. Ice build up and it not rolling up.
Is it pretty water resistant as far as keeping water out of the box?

I live in Texas, so I can't speak to the ice thing, but the aluminum slates do get HOT in the summer. Yeah my bed stays pretty dry. No issue traveling to Florida and back with luggage under cover.

Had an Access on my 2002 and it was nice but got a truxedo lo pro for my 2013. I like the truxedo better. Truxedo has great customer service. Ice hasn't been a big issue for me. Most of the time the snow and ice will blow off when going down the road, it keeps the box dry for the most part if you install it correctly.

Hi, a Retrax Pro was perfect for my use. It is quite expensive, but does exactly what I want it to do.
