I want a remote start, but I want one to work with my factory remote. Dosen't Ford sell them and has anyone on here installed a factory/dealer installed remote start system? BTW Ty sorry about the hijack.........well not really but it sounded good...

Most aftermarket remote starters out there will allow you to use a factory remote input to start the vehicle. I usually use the door unlock function to signal the starter. You have to press the button again to stop the vehicle.

Its really pretty easy. Just look around at some remote starters and you will see that all of them are compatible with the factory remote

the LCD display remote starters are bad ***, they will tell you if your doors are locked or not, it]f the truck is running or not, if the lights are on, and what the temperature is on the inside of the vehicle

what he said, I have it set up with the oem remote on my 1995 Bonneville (unlock 3 times to start). Only problem is I can't open the trunk with the remote when it's running. I was told the door locks wouldn't work either but they do. The main problem is the range sucks but it is good enough that I can start it from the window in my house.
Other problem is most (not all) shops won't set it up like that for you.
