Hi nineball,
LOMAX™ can support up to 400 pounds, evenly distributed. We do not recommend you put items on the cover as the paint can be scratched. We also offer the LOMAX™ Pro, a diamond plate version that can support up to 500 pounds, evenly distributed and would be more appropriate if you plan on putting items on the cover.

Hi cdjocp,
If the side rails are installed slightly higher than normal the power tailgate will still work, as a caution, higher installation will change the look of how the cover sits on the truck. The seal should still be on the rails of the truck to prevent any water issues. The height difference is not a great one, just enough to apply less pressure on the top of the tail gate.

thanks. it's the same weight as the one i have now and i have no interest in a diamond plate finish. it would look like crap compared to what i have now (just my opinion. i don't like diamond plate - it screams 80s/90s).

Hi RustedRoot,
Installation is possible with a drop-in bed liner.
An under the rail bed liner requires minimal trimming/cutting of the bed liner at front corners of box and back by tailgate to allow side rails to install properly. Considerable trimming/cutting is required with an over the rail drop-in bed liner.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

I have one of these on my truck, and it is pretty much top-shelf in every respect - ease of installation, ease of use, security, appearance, keeping water out. And, no drain tubes!
Question - what should I maintain the finish with? Same products I use for the paint on my truck?
