Default Power Stop components CRAP?

Looking for a step up from OEM. Something a little more high performance but not break the bank area like Wilwood or Brembo. Rockauto got me looking at their Power Stop kit. Summit Racing is actually a little cheaper with free shipping and no tax. But my buddy works in the auto industry for a parts supply company and he said they went to **** ever since they move production. Anyone have any recent experince with their products specifically for the f150s?

One of my Power Stop calipers on my 350 leaked right out of the box.

if cheaper is what's interesting to you. changing the pads to performance might be easy on the wallet.
depending on your driving conditions, winding roads, or long straightaways, would be the determining factor in what to get.
if they overheat too quickly, you'll get fading,
to soft of a material, you'll need to stand on the brakes to get you stopped and cleaning brake dust off the wheels.
so be picky on what you get.
performance calipers can cost you a tonne. quad piston calipers, as an example, imo, are over-kill on a stock 150 unless you tow heavy.

You have to define the qualities that you're looking to improve. You press a pedal in the cab, the truck slows down. What needs to be stepped up?

This guy I find very irritating but he's toned down a lot in this video. The results he got with the Power Stop products were nothing write home about.

I would save your money for some big brakes or live with what you have. If you're due for new brakes then thats whole different matter.

Or if you have Junk OEM rotors that shake. My oem rotors started that at 3000 miles, I lived with it for another 5k then put on the P/S rotors and it's been smooth braking ever since.

Yeah I could have had them turned under warranty effectively thinning them even more. I have way too much experience with OEM brake rotors to even waste my time.

Yep...I'll agree with that. Until they are a problem don't bother though.

If you live where the roads are wet a lot, dont get drilled rotors. I had issues where they would finally grab after "slipping" for a second or two. Switched to slotted and no more problems in the rain.
