Default (Photo Heavy) 2013 F150 FX4 Front Emblem Camera Install

Good Day Gents,

Finally got sometime to do up a review and take some pictures, unfortunately in Canada our winter is insane, snow all week, and all sudden a freezing rain last night, my apology on the dirty truck, but there is no way for me to keep her clean for a photo shoot in this weather!

Alright, as the topic stated, let's do up a review on this camera kit.

I purchase the kit from Chris @ Camera-source.com, link below, great customer service, their team is fast and accurate when dealing with me through out the entire purchase.
https://camera-source.com/products/f...ch-ii-lockpick

Everything was pretty straight forward on the install, but here is a quick rundown.
1. Install the lockpick unit, link below for navi unit removal, note this is for the 2013 mytouch version.

2. once the lockpick unit is out of the way, time to install the camera. there is instructions included with the kit on how to remove and install the entire camera kit, I'd say if you were able to install the lockpick unit, this part is not hard at all.

I followed the instruction, removed and install the camera, below are some photos on how I ran the wires, I ran the wires through the firewall on the driver side, also the camera shot of the front & back camera, the rear camera shot is in there for a comparison, IMO I think the camera quality is pretty darn good or even better than the stock rear camera.

Let me know if you guys have any questions!!

Photo time!

Great write up on the Camera Source emblem camera. Curious on the cost of the camera & the shipping cost to Canada?

I am guessing that ford oval is a little bit thicker than the factory one?

Did you have to cut or drill on the grill?

Thanks for the write up I have been drooling over this idea for awhile

Can the dealer tell if you have the Lockpick installed and what about warranty, will it void anything.

The front setup looks really close to the rear camera, in order to make it fit, you will need to do a small cut behind the emblem area for camera fitting.

The instruction comes with a cut template, you can use either a small saw or dremel, took me around 5mins with dremel to open up the area.

You can always fit the old emblem back even after the cut.

I haven't gone to the dealer yet, but as for other modifications we usually do to the truck, I think it always depends on your dealership.

I think this version of the lockpick has the usb update ability, in case they update your navi at some point, you should always down load the latest update for your lockpick unit.

This is their lockpick update link:
