I realize nobody is perfect, but it appears that now not only was I missing hardware for the rail caps, but now I have a bent bracket too. The cover is definitely functional and is working mostly as it should, but it's a little discouraging after hours of trying to adjust and make changes to make it work. I was very impressed to have the screws over nighted to me and that issue has already been resolved.

I have no doubt that Peragon will take care of me, but just a little frustrated.

I apologize for these issues and really appreciate your patience as we work through them. I can understand why you would be a little frustrated. Glad to hear you received those screws we shipped overnight to you. Holiday or not, we're all over this. You should be getting something back from Rodger or Joel pretty quickly on the bracket issue and strut interference.

Once the dust settles, I'll follow up with you to talk through the time you've spent dealing with any failures on our part and we'll do something to make it right.

Thanks for the reply. Jack also mentioned the nylon nuts and so I did not use the thread locker and used the hardware supplied by Peragon. (i.e.: I followed your instructions just as written) We were planning to drive to the Florida panhandle for the Labor Day weekend and they have a little bad weather going on down there (here). I finished the install Friday and all works well but I think I need to do a few adjustments as the panels bump the struts a little when I open it. I want to take a look at the Peragon videos and try to make those adjustments but I ran out of time before our trip. If I still have any problems, I'll get in touch with support after the holiday. So far the Peragon instructions and videos have been spot-on.

I did retape the seal when I put the rail assembly on the truck. I used 2" blue painters tape but did not tape length-wise. It was not holding well for me. I pulled off strips of tape and placed them crosswise so they reached over the top edge of the rail and pulled the seals all the way up and back. It took a lot of strips with about 1/4 to 1/2 inch between each strip. Once I had the rails level and secure, I released the tape from the top of the rails allowing the rubber seal to lay flat. Then I laid two fingers on the sticky surface and pulled gently and the blue tape released under the rail and came out. Maybe good masking tape would have held length wise but all I had was blue painter's tape and so the crosswise technique was what worked for me. Maybe that could help other guys.

The cover looks great and I'm confidant it will work great after I make those final adjustments. I am glad I chose Peragon. Even without the group discount, the cover is worth every penny in my opinion. I think that it will also maintain it's appearance over time a lot better than a soft cover.

If you guys want to send me one of those decals, I'd be proud to display it and give you guys a little more southern exposure.

So far so good. After talking to the wife we decided to go ahead and give the Birthday/Christmas gift to my son early so that we can double check for damage during shipping. So, I'll be doing another review from that perspective. THis time I plan on using the masking tape up front.

Heath, are there any good reasons not to use duct tape on this? It seems like it would hold better and easily wipe off afterwards.

Excellent - very glad to hear another f150forum member is a happy Peragon owner! Everything we do is about creating an experience that turns customers into fans. We'll get a decal headed your direction this week - I appreciate the southern exposure!

Please do let our support team know if you have anything we can help with. We've had a couple other people mention the rollers bumping the struts. I believe in the other cases that was resolved by moving the ball stud brackets that you bolted to your first panel (the one with the lock) from the inside of the panel leg to the outside of the leg. That moves the strut away from the cover which increases the clearance for the rollers as the cover folds up.

We've also heard from two customers that found their passenger side ramp was slightly bent when they unpacked it. We recently changed the way we arrange the ramps in the Install Kit box and it is possible as a result they are being tweaked during shipment. We're exploring that now to see if we need to make a change. If your rollers are still bumping the strut, the ramp may be the cause and our support team could get you a new ramp at no charge. That is a quick part to swap out - just two nuts.

Good feedback on how to use painter's tape for holding the rail seal out of the way. I've passed that along so everyone here is aware of that crosswise technique and can suggest it to others.

We'll be here if you need anything, just let us know!

Jack -

Duct tape would hold well, but could be more difficult to pull out from under the rails after the install. Aggressive duct tape (Gorilla tape) might be hard to clean off the top side. We've had good success with 2" wide general purpose masking tape. It sticks well, but comes off clean after the install. I've attached an image showing what we use. (Not because you don't know what masking tape looks like, but so you can see exactly what we use! )

Yes, some of the painters masking tape has very light adhesive and won't hold. We tried a few different options and found the Scotch General masking tape worked the best.

We're holding at 10 for the moment, but with the number of positive reviews we've received on here in the past few weeks, we should see more jumping on board. Just a little under two weeks left!

Glad to hear you're still happy and your cover is working well. If that should change, please let us know and we'll make sure you're taken care of.

Default Peragon Pricing Change

I wanted you all to be the first to know that we'll be launching an update to our web site later this evening along with a slight shift in our pricing model.

In January we began marketing our cover at a lower price - with shipping as an additional charge. It has worked reasonably well, but we're swimming upstream in a market where most online retailers offer free shipping - built into the price of their products. We're asked frequently why we don't offer free shipping when everyone else does. So, effective tonight, we're switching to a price that includes shipping. We'll run with that for the time being and see how the market responds.

The net change is an $11 increase in the delivered price for a bed cover in the lower 48 states. It isn't much, but it is an increase. From now until the end of the Group Buy, we will still honor the previous, $11 lower total for all forum members who order a Peragon cover.

If anyone has questions or concerns, please let me know.

Thank you!

Heath
Is there going to be a change in your shipping charges to Canada?

Good question - I forgot to address that. The total delivered price to Canada is now $10 higher, but we'll still honor the lower price through the end of the Group Buy, so you won't see any change. We'll be watching for Group Buy orders and will adjust the total on Canadian orders to be $10 lower before processing.

This will also be true for orders shipping to Alaska & Hawaii.
