Well, I installed it today. It's awesome! Took about 2 hours by myself. Install isn't hard, just have to take your time and make sure everything is right.

After reading this thread and researching on the Peragon website, I do have a question. How does the cover handle if it is fully retracted, so that the bed is open, during highway driving?

Basically I'm curious because if I'm out and about and make a purchase and need to keep the cover retracted to haul, will the cover panels flop around and cause any problems on the highway?

Thank you for your interest in our Peragon truck bed cover!

Our cover has a pull strap on the last panel so you don't have to walk down the side of your truck bed to close the cover. When you plan to travel with your cover retracted, just loop that same pull strap around the folded panels to secure them while you're on the highway.

Default Roll Bak

First time post here so sorry if any errors.....

I have a Roll Bak on my 2011 F150 Platinum. I have had it over a year. The black powder coat has already started to chip in at least one or two spots. Overall I am not impressed with the fit and finsh of the cover. Would I purchase it again, no. I am actually in the process of another round of research to find a replacement.

Just a note on the RollBak, the powder coat is textured, not smooth if that makes a difference to you. Covers like the Retrax are glossy and can scratch when you wash them. (I suggest only using cotton to wash and dry any vehicle, it is more forgiving and does not scratch the finish.)

When I purchased the cover the two main features I was looking for were simple/robust design and security. The plus with the RollBak is that there is no lock on the top of the cover like the Roll N Lock. This was a plus for me. I did not select the Roll N Lock because, $$ and I had expereince with a vehicle that had 5+ year old Roll N Lock that did not hold up well, the lock was one of the main issues. However, they have improved the design, now offer a full metal one instead of one with a vinyl cover, and from what I have seen on current vehicles, looks like the new design is holding up well.

One question that has come up is leakage. Yes the cover does leak, but from what I have found/researched, is that all retractable covers leak to some extent.

So far I am between the Roll N Lock, full metal jacket and the Peragon. The Peragon takes up less space in the bed which is a huge plus. Fit and finish look better than the RollBak by far.

Finally got mine installed yesterday. Very nice product. Leaked a bit at the car wash but i'm ok with that.

OK, I just got off the phone with Rodger after about 30 minutes of drilling questions. First of all, SPECTACULAR customer service, Heath.

Now, for my specific applications, I tend to be using stake pocket tie downs a lot on my loads mainly because my loads are taller than the bed. I like the removal process of this cover more than others, but Ford's oversight on covering those stake pocket holes up on the 5.5' bed is a SERIOUS hindrance to those of us like me. I've found and purchased these Bully Clamps and Extang Cargo Cleats but they are going to be incompatible with this cover. This cover is on my VERY short list of covers, but the only tie down points I'm aware of that will be usable are those that Ford supplied halfway down the wall of the bed.

Does anyone know of any other solutions that are available? I don't suppose my tall load straps would stay out of the way of the track system if I took the rail caps to a plastic fabricator place and had them bore out holes for the stake pockets and shimmed the holes, would it?
