I just installed one on mine... instead of buying the tuner sadly... But I likely would of bought the backflip if I didn't see your post... My install was a little tougher because I have a factory bedliner and I wanted to keep it. So drilling the drain holes was a small challenge as well as having ample space to close the tailgate... I had to slice the liner to allow the cover holder to slide back an extra half inch.

I've been told by the retailer that this cover can 'partially' open. I just want to check that this is true?

We would like to be able to put our bikes at the back while leaving some of the bed covered while driving along.

Can someone confirm that you can do that?

Thanks!

Yes, you can, I've been able to do that before, leave it half open when hauling something that stuck up above the bed but wanted rest of the bed covered.

Had mine on for almost two years now and works just as well when I installed it. Did have to grease the tracks a couple times usually after winter when it wasn't opened and closed much at all but that's about it and it still opened and closed fine, just wasnt quick and smooth until greased.

I have been looking at the Bak Roll-x and now I saw this and it seems to be superior. Have you had any issues with ice or snow building up in either the tracks or in the canister preventing it from opening or closing? I have been told to expect -40 to -50 F winters where I live and I want to make sure the tonneau I get will endure those harsh temperatures.

I think a little grease now and then is a small price to pay for such a sleek looking tonneau cover. Thank you for your excellent review.

I put one on my 2015 when I got it in January. It performed flawlessly though out the winter and didn't freeze up once. We had one of the coldest winters ever this year as well.

During hard rain, or going through the car wash it lets in a little bit of water, but not as much as the Bak Flip on my 2012.

The "box" in the front takes up a little room, but it does come out easily if you need the full length of the bed.

My favourite thing about this cover is being able to see out of the back window when I have stuff in the bed. The Bak Flip would completely cover the rear window so I couldn't see anything... I hated that.

My only complaint is that the cover rattles at times. It's aluminum (I believe) covered with vinyl, so when you go over bumps, you can hear it faintly. It's especially noticeable when the sliding rear window is open. Besides that, I have no complaints and would recommend it to anyone.

Pretty much dead on with everything right there. The only downside I've had is the slight noise I can hear when on the freeway but that's only when the back sliding glass window is open and all rest of the windows closed, but it is a very minor noise, most folks would never notice it. And I only get a TINY bit of water in the bed by the tailgate, just enough to have me notice there is a damp spot on my bed rug but again, it's very minimal.

I have one that I just installed. Bed was pretty wet this morning after a decent amount of rain. I thought that i had installed the tubes wrong. I had someone mimic rain with a hose this morning and it turns out the canister itself is leaking. I opened the canister to put in some silicone and saw there was already(not enough) some there. I am wondering if there is a way to take the cover out of the canister so I can seal it up properly. It does look great but I cannot have my stuff getting soaked.

That I dont know honestly. I would call Pace Edwards to ask if there is a simple way as sounds like yours didnt have enough sealer added from factory or something but shouldn't leak that much.
