Default Pace Edwards Switchblade

Ordered bed cover from AutoAnything and received great service and deal. Installation wasn't as smooth as expected. I had to modify plastic bedliner to allow canister to sit far enough up to get tailgate to close. I wasn't too crazy about drilling holes for drain tubes, but it came out fine. My biggest issue was shimming the side rails. They send small plastic spacers, which wasn't working. I ran to the hardware store and got metal ones that did the job better. You need to follow the rail spacing step to a tee or the cover will snap open on its own. It has been raining so I can't comment on weatherproof since

there was quite a bit of water already in the bed.

It's the cheapest retractable cover that I know of. I'm sure the Switchblade is priced to compete with the folding covers (Undercover Flex, Bakflip) which have quite a bit of utility and currently dominate the market.

I use my truck like a station wagon and wanted an easier way to access the bed. I had a roll up on my Lariat, but wanted something nicer for the Platinum. The price was very competitive to the folding covers and much less than the other retractable covers. After getting it setup on on the truck, I can remove the entire setup in 15 minutes if necessary. I will follow up on the waterproof level when we get another hard rain. I wanted to thank AutoAnything and the other vendors that provide nice discounts to the forum members.

After last nights hard rain I checked the bed for intrusion. Right at the tailgate water is getting in because the seal at the end has close to an inch gap. I am not sure if its designed this way. I will reach out to Pace Edwards for an answer.

I called Pace Edwards and the customer service agent agreed that the seal is too short. He is shipping a replacement seal today. I will see how much difference it makes upon switching it out.

Shouldn't be any gap on it, mine has zero gap in it and no water gets in aside from a few drops that soak into the edge of the bedrug which is on my tailgate.

All, I am in Michigan and looking heavily at the Switchblade. I had a vendor in the area tell me he won't sell it to me because he knows I will have issues with leaks, particularly with the snow. Looking for some other opinions. I am thinking if I set up properly, I should not have any issues.
