I have a 04 4.6 XLT also, and I put a modified flowmaster 40sr on it. instead of the standard 2.5" pipes they put on it, I had them put 3" pipes and instead of 45 degreeing it, they straightpiped it. Since I did this, I have noticed that when I accelerate my truck seems to be lighter, but I think thats due to the couple extra horses I got from it. I didnt increase the air in-flow at all, and I dont seem to be having problems with that, then again, all my mods to the truck have been done in the last 4 months since I got back from Iraq, so I don't really have a point of view to compare it too. But, The acceleration is smoother, and the engine seems to shift more smoothly since I put my Flows on it ..

I am getting the Magnaflow kit at some point. I have heard a few trucks, nice rumble under acceleration, but not mind numbing loud. Plus, you don't lose any low-end torque, these trucks can't afford to lose torque.

I thought glasspacks were the only muffler that would blow anything(packing etc.) out over time?
