Modern Day Fox Customer Support
About to pull the trigger on leveling my truck. I spend most time on road but I ride dirt bikes in the desert occasionally and when I go out, I’m not f-ing around. Camburg has a nice $2700 kit with Fox 2.5” non-dsc resi’s and camburg UCAs up front along with Fox 2.0’s in the rear. I think that matches my on road and off road needs well. Second choice is the Falcon tow/haul kit with 2.25” non resi, non adjustable shocks in the front similar to Bilstein 6112 but seemingly better, along with adjustable resi socks in the rear. The adjustable in dampening seems like it would help well because going out to the desert with a +1000 lb payload sometimes can make the back end uncomfortable.
The biggest thing that keeps me from just going camburg Fox kit one and done is the lingering rain cloud above Fox’s customer service department. I think they’ve gotten a bit big for their britches and can handle the service along with it. Fox’s also need a 50k mike servicing for majority on road driving. Falcons customer service claimed to be mostly maintenance free and if I ever do want to freshen them up, they will sell me the parts to do it myself or charge me a service fee of $80/shock. Fox has a 1 year warranty. Falcon has a 3 year warranty. Fox/ Camburg kit cost = $2715. Falcon/ Camburg kit = $2250. Since Falcon, made by Teraflex, is a much smaller company I feel as if they will be able to have a much better customer relationship because at that size of a company they need it. Long story short, is there any insight someone can give me on current Fox customer service? Have they changed? I deal with Fox on a semi-regular basis, which includes sending pieces in for rebuild/maintenance.
You don't even need to talk to them if you don't want, as their service form in right on their website, but I do call them on the phone and get through decently quick. I don't know what you mean by them being 'too big for their britches', Is it the maintenance schedule? If so, step down to a shock with less performance. You won't notice when the fluid turns to salad oil(it comes that way in a lot of chinese made ****). Hi-po parts require more maintenance. Simple as that If you don't need/want it, get something cheaper |
