Line the Bed or Not

I am considering doing a Rhino lining in the bed of my new F150. The truck is Ingot Silver and I would do a black Rhino liner. How will the black liner look on this truck? It's my first truck. it's more of a luxury vehicle than a work truck. I'm a little nervous to do something so permenant.

What are your thoughts? And no that's not me, it's my wife:cool:

I have the Sterling Grey and went with a color matched Line-X. My preference was not to have the contrast. If you're going to put a cover, I don't think it will matter.

Black bedliner will look fine with the black bed caps on your truck. Nice truck by the way!!

Tejasandre 06-30-2011 07:51 PM

Nice. Will look good.

Wondertwin1 06-30-2011 07:57 PM

I vote line-x woth extra. Line-x is a little harder than rhino. And i would lose the bed caps and have the liner wrap over the top. Dont be nervous about a spray on bedliner. Its one of the best investments ever

LINE-X Premium. Nuff' said.

afloader 07-01-2011 11:42 AM

Has anyone know anything about lyntrux bed liners? That's the kind my dealer is trying to put in mine

Wondertwin1 07-01-2011 12:03 PM

Dont let him. Tell him line-x premium/extra only. Its the best there is.

And if he says he cant. Thats when you say you need a new dealer.

FLSTS 07-01-2011 11:48 PM

Neighbor has Rhino lining & I went with Line-X, sight unseen, based solely on forum recommendations. Absolutely NO comparison, Line-X is hands down the nicer coating. Black will look fine.

Wondertwin1 07-02-2011 07:56 AM

Rhino is alot softer compound from trucks ive seen. I can take my fingernail and make an indentation in the coating. Linex is like rock.

MonarchPoolandLawn 07-02-2011 11:20 AM

After time with Rhino you will notice black powder coming off. Touch it and your hands turn black. Had it hated it!

I had the dealer throw in a line-x spray in when I bought my truck, told him if he wanted to sell me a truck, spray in my liner! I've been more then happy with Line-x, been over a year and a half, and it's holding up, especially with all the crap I throw in the bed! Plus life time warranty nation wide!

egbertnr 07-02-2011 09:31 PM

I went with a Dual Liner, looks great, and the thick rubber mat, nothing moves on it while you are driving. Almost went with Line X though too.

SilverRebel 07-05-2011 10:35 AM

Nice truck. I didn't get a wife option with mine, I had to purchase that aftermarket and boy is it EXPENSIVE!

Stage4 07-07-2011 09:37 AM

LINE-X Xtra or LINE-X Premium, WAY better than Rhino.

vikingbaseball3 09-29-2011 10:51 AM

line-x is way better that rhinos, ive had mine in since 01 and it still looks good for 10 years, i mean its got wear from 10 years but hey id go with line-x

Platinum_Dawg 09-29-2011 12:40 PM

Line-X Xtra, you will not regret it. Everyone that has seen mine has had nothing but very good things to say. The Xtra color match is awesome!

Ha! I needed that laugh today...

Another vote for Line X. I have had mine for 5 years and still looks as good as the day I got it and its tough as nails. If you want they can also color coordinate it to any color you want...

farmlife55 10-02-2011 11:43 PM

x2 on the linex had one on myes old truck best investment I coulda made

BIGblue85 10-03-2011 12:23 AM

Also going to vote for Line X. Got my truck sprayed two weeks ago. Looks fantastic.

raddoc 10-14-2011 11:02 PM

Got my line-x premium sprayed on today. Don't sweat the luxury truck thing. My king ranch has 640 miles on it. Even the bed of a darling truck is gonna get some use and scratches. The bedliner really enhances the look of the bed. I went with straight black (the rancher is black and gold) and the truck wears it well!! you wont regret it. $428 total cost.

Reaper11,
I have a Bedrug & I love it. You mentioned reluctance to do something permanent. It can be removed. It was easy to install. I think it's easier to keep clean. No washing necessary, just blow with an air hose. It's water proof. Stuff doesn't slide as easily as a plastic liner, I've had several on those. Thought about Rhino liner, but I too didn't want to spray my new truck bed. Good luck with your new truck.

First off nice truck and second of all, I'm not creeping but do you live in Iowa? Your wife looks like my cousin but I cant tell from the Pic.

RES4CUE 10-16-2011 08:05 PM

I use a bedrug as I didn't have the coin for line x, they want $400 plus at several dealers here in my area. I started looking at bedrugs and found they were almost as much but then found out they sell just the mat portion, got it $150 shipped. It is nice and is padded, fits in the grooves and makes the bed flat. nothing shifts around and it covers the bed floor nicely!

Something is not right. A new, undamaged actual Bedrug costs more than $150 even at dealer cost.

Nothing wrong here

Those links do not show a full Bedrug. Those are Bedrug MATS that just cover the floor. A full Bedrug looks like this and they cost at least $350:

Yes, I know this, that is why I posted and I quote "found out they sell just the mat portion"

Reread my post slowly and you will see this.

muggia59 10-21-2011 09:04 PM

I got the dual liner, and I love it. I think it was about 370 thru autoanything. Nothing slides in the back, and no 2 sided tape (or whatever they use for the sides on the carpet liner). Spray in is still better, but I could not bring myself to scuff up my bed. Going to pull the liner out next summer, and if this liner has scuffed up the inside in any way, then I'll spray line it, but still put the dual liner back in.

I have a white truck. And its my first truck that i am not going to use for constant work. Its my "family" truck and I am definitely going to rhino line it in black. You never know when you are going to throw something in there. And if you dont rhino it and you scratch it all up you will be pissed.

Its all about the shop who has done it. I use this place a few towns over and they have done about 6 of our trucks and they all got the snot beat out of them. We do aluminum commercial windows. And dragging those on anything tears it up. And i have never had rhino peel.

I agree, it's a "crap shoot".
