Roush TVS 5.0 or modded Ecoboost?
I'm waiting to get into a 2015 F150 around January of next year. I'm trying to research and come up with a tentative plan for mods. I come from owning modded Mustangs and would like to get good power out of the new truck. I'm trying to decide between going with the Roush TVS blower on a 5.0 or spend up to approximately the same ($6500+/-) on modded the EB (or less of course depending on what's out there). I'm wanting a slight lift and 33's. I work from home so this will be a daily driver but no work commuting, there are plenty of days the truck won't leave the house. It needs to double as the family hauler for an occasional road trip so reliability is a factor. I understand there will be some waiting till 2015 parts are out but I like to have a clear goal while waiting. Recommendations and discuss please!

I left the Mustang scene too so I know where you coming from. I think it all depends on a few things. If you looking for power to tow with then go with the Eco plus it will be better on gas. The TVS on a 5.0 will make good power down low (better than NA) but it won't be as fuel efficient but the plus is you will probably have less mechanical worries. If your looking just for the go fast factor, get the 5.0 with either the TVS or Centri (procharger) and I would lean to the procharger because it actually improves MPGs! Only down fall is makes better top end but you still have a fast truck.

Thanks Big Red - I think I'm leaning a bit more towards the 5.0 with the Roush TVS 2300 or maybe the Procharger. I had a Procharger F1 on my SN95 project car. Only thing is the hassle of buying, installing, tuning with the blower when the EB comes with the turbos already and you're more or less just adding bolt-ons. But the blown 5.0 gets me much more excited. Plus I read that you can get powertrain warranties from Whipple, Roush, and Procharger... Roush seems to charge a bit more for theirs while Whipple's and Procharger's seem to be priced lower. Nevertheless its nice to see you can get the blower on the 5.0 and still have a warrantied powertrain. Although I'll need to see how good those warranties really are - I can't imagine what I would do in light of the family if I popped a motor My Mustangs were from before I was married lol. I've got plenty of time to think it over and see what comes out and what announcements are made about products - its fun to window shop when you know you're going to buy!
