Default Installation issue

So..I put my AFE CAI on yesterday and had an issue. There was a relay mounted to the wall that the bottom portion sits even with the bottom of the air box. Have any of you had this issue or is it a redesign with the 08?? Ford was clueless and AFE is in a holding pattern. Here is a pic...

Sooo..now it is just rigged with a zip while I figure out whether to put in a bracket or what???

Is it a relay for your fogs?? That's the only thing I can think of.

Yeah..it's the Fog Light relay......just tryin to figure out what to do with the damn thing. I dont want it sittin their wire tied. Thinkin about mounting some kind of bracket or geting out the dremmel and making another hole shaped like the one that is blocked, just higher up the wall. Figured I would run it by all you guys' wealth of knowledge first, before I go puttin holes in the truck

I would possibly recommend getting a little longer wire and mounting it somewhere else out of the way. I only recommend getting longer wires so you won't be limited on where you can put it. There's a piece of the frame a few inches below where the filter is that you can drill into to mount the relay box and also ground it and that should get it way out of your way.

Whats wrong with it there? I mean if its mounted solid with the zip tie and it is not in the way of the filter... I would leave it. I am not much into cutting into a stock wiring harness to lengthen it unless I have to. The cut area is just another place a short can happen. Just my .02

I have the same relay but mine is mounted to the fender well. Why is yours loose? it should have a bracket already there

The wires coming out of the end go directly to the fogs..??

I am weary of this as well since I am not a master of electronics by any means. I just think it looks crappy and it's not as tight as I would like it.

The bottom hole for it to click in is at the same level as the bottom of the airbox. You can see it just under where the green wire grounds.

Well I finally pulled my pulled my CAI back off today and just used a pair of tin snips to trim the air box. Everything fits nice now and I figured it was easier to trim the box than punch holes in my truck.

Sanded it up and hit it with some new high temp temp black ad finished.

Thanks to you all
