I did not pull any fuses. I have updated mine several times trying different settings and never had any issues.

I am having another issue with the regular fuel tune though. I find that acceleration sometimes hesitates. It is kinda scary sometimes if you are making a left at a light and you hit the gas and the truck doesn't respond for about 1 second. So I returned it to stock and the issue disappears. Anyone else experience this? I haven't updated the programmer since September when I got it so I am wondering if they have fixed this issue.

I had the same hesitation and the first thing that went through my mind was, great I just fried my new truck. I'm taking everything back to stock and considering returning the tuner.

I updated the tuner yesterday (there was an update however they give no indication of what was changed). I tried the regular fuel tune again and I'll leave it for a few days and report back. I drove it for about 15 minutes yesterday and did not have the hesitation so hopefully it is fixed!

One difference I have noticed is that I now get a "Service Stabilitrak" error now immediately after programming which I never got before.

Here's my latest...I going to return the tuner so I call autoanything to find out what to do and they tell me that Hypertech requires a $19.95 restocking fee. So I double check Hypertech's website and I find "Simply return the product within 30 days from the date of purchase and receive a full refund". Not a word about any restocking fees. Then I called Hypertech and I ask the tech if there are any known issues with the max energy causing a hesitation, he said "not that I heard of". I ask about the tuner causing trouble codes and he said again "not that I heard of". Finally I asked about the full refund and he said "yes, we charge a restocking fee" and that's it. No effort to help in any way.

im going to return mine also. it caused a nasty loud transmission rattle. i called hypertech and they told me to call the place i bought it from to return it. they told me they havent heard of any transmission issues from their tuner. sounds to me like they didnt do their homework with the 2013 trucks. i hope my transmission isnt toast.

If have seen this on the Ford F150 Forum from a couple of people with 2012 & 2013 F150 5.0 where they are getting a hesitation. I haven't seen any calls on this, but call the Hypertech tech line at 901.382.8888 and we will find out what is going on. We will send the information to engineering to find out the problem & get it fixed.
Thanks,
Gary@Hypertech.

Just thought that I would provide an update on this . . . I ended up calling Hypertech Tuesday on Gary's advice and guess who picked up?!? Gary was very helpful and forwarded on my complaint to engineering who asked to preform a dump of my programmer and get down to the bottom of the hesitation issue. I am waiting on a solution but they seem confident they can rectify it.

I have a 2013 F150 5.0l and just installed the Hypertech Max Energy using the setting posted that Gary said to use minus the 50% 1-2 gear, I left that at factory as the others have stated.
The one issue I seem to have was mentioned earlier the slight hesitation, and it seems to happen between 1st and 2nd when doing a rolling stop, not always but it happens none the less.
Description of event: rolling up to an intersection to turn right, vehicle is doing between 15-20 mph 3rd down shift, give gas vehicle does nothing for a few seconds shifts to 1st and everything is ok...
I also notice that 2nd gear is never touched as the vehicle slows down to a stop, the vehicle down shifts through each gear but skips from 3rd to 1st!

Hypertech settings I used:

Regular Gas, Shift Points +300 (1-2, 2-3, 3-4), Shift Firmness 50% (2-3, 3-4),
Rev Limiter +400, Fan 195.

Thanks for any helpful input in advance!

Ya, I opened up a ticket with Hypertech regarding the hesitation and they contacted me several times to gather information from me as well as a dump of my reader. However, I have not heard back from them since so I returned my truck to stock (except the tire height).

Guess I can open a ticket too just so they know there are a few of us with the issue, maybe that will help them to get a move on it!
