Default How to get out of a tint ticket?

Hello, I'm looking to tint my windows over the winter. I'm looking to do 20% fronts and double limo on the pop out backseat windows and rear window. I live in VA and have a black f150 so I am very curious about what to say or do to possibly get out of a tint ticket because the cops are sticklers for that kind of thing.

If don't want to get a tint ticket, don't get illegal tint. Pretty simple...

That being said, I have illegal dark tint on my vehicles as I love the look of them but I fully expect to pay a tint ticket every few years. Just goes with the territory.

What he said...If you dont want to deal with tickets, remove the tint and make it legal. Otherwise, pay the ticket and wait on the next one...

Tape a hundred dollar bill to your drivers license-hey it works in the movies. No I agree with the others, I had limo black on my side windows when I was younger, any time I got pulled over, the cops had guns drawn because they could not see what I was doing inside my truck. All I use is the factory tint now.

Legal tint for front Windows in VA is 50%. Back Windows and Rear is 35%.

I would go 35% all around if I were you (Excluding Windshield). Still illegal, but 35% to 20% is certainly noticeable. Then you could play dumb if you get pulled over and say you thought it was 35% all the way around.

The cop made me rip mine on all Windows in front of him when I got pulled over in my car with 20% (50% is legal in MN). No ticket.

I never got pulled over with 35%. Could just be lucky though.

I just got a ticket for my tint, had to pull it off last weekend. The cop actually pulled me over for tint and while at it gave me a ticket for no front license plate! I was pretty upset but at the same time it wasn't legal so I can only blame myself.

I despise cops that give tint and license plate tickets. Waste of tax payers money.

I run illegal tint up front and limo in back. Ill pay the ticket and move on. And shouldn't/isn't it against the law for an officer to play judge/jury and deem the tint illegal and have you remove it in front of him? Isn't that what a judge/jury is for? Cops aren't supposed to levy judgement. I really hate cops. Sorry. Wrong thread for an anti-cop rant.

in regard to having your front pass/driver windows tinted. i heard it was because in the case of an accident the safety glass which is supposed to shatter into a million tiny pieces. is now held together with window film and wont shatter possibly taking your head off. and like the other member said the police dont like not being able to see while walking up to the car. i also found it hard to see crosswalks and other things in poorly lit areas at night.

as all others have said.... either dont get em or expect to eventually pay a ticket lol. luckily out here, cops dont bother with tinted windows or lights, unless you get pulled over for something else, then theyll get smart with ya and say something...

Since I have an extended cab and it doesn't have full back doors I do not have a limit here in VA and the back glas never has a limit regardless of the vehicle. I am going to have them done but it looks like I may have to roll em down around hot spots!
