Hood shield - Bug deflectors
What do you folks think are the advantages of a bug deflector or hood shield?
If a good idea, who makes a good looking, durable item?
Thanks in advance.

I think that it is one of the best investments I made for my new truck. it was literally the first thing I ordered the same night I bought my truck. I drive a good bit for work and on the highway, so I could stand to think of tearing up my hood. I have already found a few small chips and scratches on the bug deflector that could have been my hood.

I like the Ford one with the F150 logo but they are overpriced.

Love mine, actually makes it easier to identify the front corners of the truck in those made for import parking lots too. A supercrew with a 6.5 box can be a bit much to park in tight spaces. My bug deflector helps me (my girlfriend more) judge front end swing. Also eliminates those damn stone chips.

If you can afford it, I'd suggest going with a clear bra (Xpel or 3M) - they're much more effective and cover a much larger area on the entire front of the truck.
