Default Hard Folding Tonneau Cover.. Which one?

Looking at all the different brands and models of tri/quad hard folding tonneau covers I am having a hard time deciding which one to get. I need/want a low profile one that allows my stake pockets to be used. This limits the models I am looking at so I would love to read your stories about brands and the hard folding tonneau you have, pros and cons and customer service experience.

Post up fellow truckers so as to assist me in getting the right brand/model.

Thank you

I had the Bakflip HD on my last truck. I really enjoyed this cover, looked and performed great. Also held it's value, I sold it a year later for almost what I paid for it.

I will be buying a Bakflip G2 this weekend for my Ford.

You're probably going to have to go with a bed cover that fits inside of the bed rails if you want to be able to use your stake pockets. Almost all of the folding covers that that fit on top of the bed cover up the stake pocket holes.

Good point, I thought of that as well and while that is correct it seems to me the tie downs will only be used (in my case) to secure an item(s) inside the bed which means at least a 1/3 of the cover is folded open allowing the use of the tie downs.

I just found the Advantage Hard Hat which seems pretty nice and easy on easy off. Not sure about going with it but I decided as long as rails are not mounted over my stake holes like the fold-a-cover I should be fine

I have the bakflip Fibermax and I love the thing. I purchased mine by calling BakFlip outlets and talking to Morrie. Nothing but a pleasant experience purchasing from Morrie.

There is a newer model out by Peragon that might look interesting. The cover actually folds accordion style up against the cab but it is all inside the bed. Been looking at this one for a little while. Just don't know about the all metal cover part. Seems like it would rattle on rough roads. Pretty neat concept though.

Hard Folding Tonneau Cover.. Which one?-img_2104.jpgI have the BakFlip HD. I love that it sits flush and doesn't look added on. Also, it folds up as easy at -25 as it does in the hot sun. It was installed at the outfitter I bought it from and is leak free. It locks with my endgate so I don't have stupid little locks on the cover thay can freeze or seize. Well worth it IMHO.

We dislike squeaks and rattles as much as you do! So all of our parts are rubber isolated to prevent noise. The aluminum panels have a rubber seal compressed between them and the guide rails have rubber seals that dampen any movement. We have a few customers on this forum who have reported back after some off-road adventures that even in those conditions they didn't get any noise from their Peragon truck bed covers.

If I can answer any questions about our product, just let me know - glad to help.

I didn't know guys were a member of this site. Thanks for the info on your product. It didn't mention it our your website about the seals between the panels or either I missed it during the video, but sounds like you have a great product though. I do like the fact that the cover folds entirely in the bed and against the cab. That is something I liked about my Fold-A-Cover. I can't see why anyone would want a cover that folds up against the back glass and obstruct your rearview out the window. Looks like I may have to take a more serious look at your cover on my next truck!
