ForScan tool
Hi everyone. I have a 2015 XLT 5.0 and have been looking into modifying some things. I keep reading about ForScan and I'm sure that I want to buy one. Only thing is, I don't know which one. I've seen some wifi ones, bluetooth and the regular cable ones. I use my Galaxy Note 8 for everything and was hoping that I could download the app or whatever it is and use bluetooth to upload the files. Am I way off on the concept or is this pretty much what everyone does? Also, which model is everyone using or what should I stay away from. I almost pulled the trigger on one from Ebay for just under $40. Should I?

Read the first post in the FORScan thread which answers all your questions. No, can't use Android tablet.

Thanks for letting me know that I can't use my phone for uploading. The link you provided didn't help too much. I didn't see where they compared modules to narrow down which one to get. There are over 1,500 posts so I might have missed it.

Here, try this.

This will get you started on the tutorial. In the tutorial, it gives the link for the spreadsheet to make the changes. It also gives you a list and some links of the adapters you will need. All the ones in the list have been proven to work. I use this one and it works very well:
I'm guessing that's what you were referring to when you said "modules." Another thing in the tutorial you will learn is what "modules" are. I don't want to sound rude and I'm trying to be helpful, but it will be beneficial to learn the correct jargon when asking for help.
Another tip, jump right in to FORScan thread and try to do a search. The search isn't the most user-friendly and we all know it so don't worry about asking a question that's already been asked. We're all here to help each other.

I suspect FORScan won't be for you. I linked to thread and told you to read first post. First post links to spreadsheet, which tells you all you need to know.
