I wish I could tell you the perfect exhaust is. I have a magnaflow and I'm going to put true duals headers and swap all four cats out with 2 high flow ones and I'll tell you how it sounds

I can't do cats, mine are working. California says you cant replace them unless they're broken so no shop will do it. Flowmaster Super 10 anyone?
I'd still like to hear how it sounds though

Magnaflows are quieter the flowmasters. But Magnaflow are a straight throw mufflers which has less air restriction which give more gains.

and Tcorrs04 you have any pics. would consider bringing it out in front of the tire
Ill go and take a pic really quick. I'll try to get a sound clip too, cell phone recording may suck but ill try.

Here are some cell phone pics. I tried taking video but couldnt get it to my pc from my phone due to file size.

Here are some okay sound clips from SIDO Magnaflow on a 5.4. I think mine sounds a bit deeper but pretty close.

Hope this helps

Ive had the flowmaster 50 series for a year and a half. Like it at idle, but kind of a letdown while driving. Im going with magnaflow next time.

I had a Flowmaster cat-back series 50 on my then 07F150 w/5.4L, I had no complaints with this set-up.
I then put a Magnaflow on my Mustang V6, very impressive.
For this '10F150, I'm going to try out the Magnaflow.

I've had a magnaflow on my 04 for the past 6 years and love it! It's a 3" SISO with a 4" round x 14" long body (magnaflow part # 14419). In other words, a race muffler. Probably as loud as you could get for a magnaflow, which is not too loud. They're about $78 from EBay. My wife has not said a word about it being too loud in or out of the truck. Basically drive around without your muffler and that's what it will sound close to that. I'm running JBA headers through factory cats and Y pipe, then 3" to SISO and a side dump in front of RR wheel. Looks and sounds great.
I've been running magnaflow mufflers on all of my road race cars/ off road race trucks/ buggies for at least the last 15 years.
They just work better than flow master, period.

I dont mind tthe volume, cali does (1992 5.0, California resident)
Which magnaflow do you use? Try their "magnapack" muffler, its small and should be plenty loud on that older 5.0 engine.

A similar option that is not expensive is the Dynomax Bullet 12" muffler.
