F-150 3.5L EcoBoost - Long term Storage and Dry Starts
In my younger days, I had a Ski Supreme inboard. It's Ford 350 engine would sit for about seven months a year over the winter. In late Spring, on initial start-up, I could hear the damage being done by not having oil pressure or lubricant in the cam and valves upon initial start-up. I solved the problem by installing a Pre-Luber and running it for several minutes in the spring, and then for about 30 seconds before each weekend ski outing restart. It made a huge difference and the engine lasted many decades as a result.
I will soon have a new F-150 Lariat Super Crew FX4 with the 3.5L Eco Boost and max trailer tow package. This vehicle will effectively be used during summers as a tow vehicle covering 13,000 miles pulling a 6,000 pound travel trailer. Additionally it may be used for a week at Christmas. Other than that, it will be in covered storage awaiting my return to Texas. My dry start fears are haunting me once again.
Are my concerns valid with these new engines? Have any F150 Forum member installed a pre-Luber on their EcoBoost? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Thank you

My boat is a 1985 and has its original engine. My F150 is a 1977 and has its original engine. I have a few other low mile/seasonal vehicles that I have had for years. Never had an issue.

I bought 2015 Ford F-150 2.7L Ecoboost XLT back in April of 2015, I have about put about 104000 miles on it as of today (all driven by me). Majority of my miles have been highway. I tow a lot every summer, moved a bunch and went off roading. Truck is still running like it did when I bought it (knock on wood).
Regular maintenance have been around every 5,000 - 6,000 miles,
Leveling kit added within the first 10k miles
Replaced tires at 40k miles (my choice)
Anzo Switchback headlights around 75k miles
Replaced Spark Plugs and Battery at 90k miles
Only thing I really don't care about/dislike is Sync 2.
My plan is to hit 999,999 miles, I have a long journey ahead.
