i'm sure your truck do too, but mine sounds SO good with exhaust AND intake done. no drone at cruising RPMs, but good rumble to it at take off / accel. it gets other truck-guys attentions too. just driving home from date night with the wife tonight, a guy pulls up and starts reving his silverado. no competition at all. didn't even have to try (really, i didn't try). but my truck was faster off the line AND sounded better.

sound-wise, i'm glad i went with the 14" over the 18". the 14" sounds meaner.

(my truck is still new to me, so this kind of stuff isn't old yet. i still get a real kick out of it)

The tricky part about exhaust (I know I have said this before) is that sound is subjective and we all hear a bit differently so it can be challenging to make a recommendation. The best thing to do is listen to sound clips and read reviews on what type of sound people are getting on the setup they have. Some like a growl, others like a deep rumble, and some want it as loud as possible (you know who you are ).

For those of you new to exhaust, here is a great research guide to help explain things like mandrel-bent piping and scavenging.

As always, the coupon code below can help you save big on many of the top exhaust brands out there!

Right now, Flowmaster exhaust systems have been reduced for additional savings!

Bought a thrush turboflow muffler from oreillys and welded it all myself, love the rumble and added hp. Ran straight pipes for a few days but couldn't hear anything but motor going down the road! Gotta hear my mud grips singin too

I installed the stainless AFE catback system. Honestly I think it is louder in the driver seat than outside of the truck. Fair amount of drone in-cab from 1800-2100 RPMs but only under throttle otherwise its quiet as stock. I love the look and quality of the system though. I was very excited that the system doesn’t neck the collector off the Y pipe down much. That was my problem with the Gibson system it didn’t replace the most restrictive part of the pipe. Very noticeable improvement in throttle response and spool up but it was put on after the tuner and intake so it really tied things together.

I have 96 f150 with the 5.0. It has Summit Racing shorty headers, true duals, no cats, Dynomax Bullets with tailpipes that dump out 90's behind the rear tires topped of with 3x8" rolled stainless tips. Its has an aggressive start up, but going down the road its fairly mellow. But when you step on it u can defiantly here
