How does a magnaflow rust when they are S.S.?

2009 F150 Scab STX with a Magnaflow cat back SI/SO.

Sounds perfect to me.

I've read some threads of people having this issue, mainly on the tips though. Not in this forum. Isn't there different grades of stainless steel, some are more susceptible to rusting than others? Just curious, I mean Magnaflow will replace your muffler, it has to be rusted all the way through though.

I've got a Cherry Bomb Extreme muffler on my 4.6 and love it. It's louder and sounds better than most of my buddies trucks with "louder" trucks

Getting repiped today. Shorty headers, no cats, dual pipe to dual single in dual out cherry bomb pro series mufflers. Sounded good with all cats and only one muffler, should roar now. I'll get a sound clip or video uploaded next week. My buddies is the same except with cats and flowmasters, and it will absolutely SCREAM! sets off some car alarms. so+1 for cherry bomb true duals

Just installed this exhaust this morning on my 2010 S-Cab FX4. Installed easy, no problems. LINK

PROBLEM

Sounds good at idle, a little to loud (for me) accelerating, way to loud w/drone at highway speeds.
Could I have a leak? How can I check for leaks?

Muffler specs (5 x 8 x 18in. Dual Outlet Muffler, 3in./2.5in. System, Dual 3.5in.)
Would another manufacturers muffler bolt in?

possibly could be replaced with some welding and cutting. if you have the right tools its not very hard. flowmaster makes a more mild muffler in the 50 series.
Probly not a leak, but those tips make it alot deeper. If its a bolt in system just crank the truck and listen underneath for any leaks(will be a ticking sound at idle).
