I may do this on my new '16. Did something very similar on two Tacomas. The silence is very nice !

How did it work out for you? which wire did you disable?

Haven't done it yet but may try to do this today.


Edit: Got it done ! However I wasn't able to release the metal connector out of the plastic plug. After stripping back enough of the black wrap/tape I just cut the Blue Wire/Grey Stripe. There is enough wire it could be soldered back together and heat shrink sleeved. NO MORE CHIME !

I cut the speaker wire. I like some of the silence but not all. Recommend a better method than what I did.

For example the turnsignal "clicks" come from that speaker ( no clicks ). Also the other chime notifications such as low fuel etc were nice to have (gone).

If you guy's cut a wire are you sure it was the right one ? I still have audible turn signals. Not sure about low fuel warning but will find out in a couple weeks.
