Default Dual Exhaust vs Single Exhaust

Hey guys, still considering exhaust system and was wondering; Is there any difference in how loud your exhaust is or how deep the tone if between a SI/SO muffler and a SI/DO muffler? And is a glasspack louder and/or deeper then a SI/SO or SI/DO Muffler??

Thanks

Well you will get a deep er tone in a muffler but not as loud. If your gonna spend the money i say do a flowmaster 40 SI/DO or SI/SO with a Y pipe

Hey, Thanks, I was considering the Super 40s, so I think I'll go with a muffler, know i just have to decide if I want SI/DO or SI/SO.

do dual out. looks better and is a bit louder. also my personal pref on flowmaster is the orig 40. deep tones are usually from magnaflow or glasspacks but magnaflows are usually pretty quiet compared to flows

I have Magnaflows on my '66 Chevelle w/ straight duals w/ X pipe. Mufflers sound nice with a fairly mellow low tone at idle and cruising speeds. Once you hit the gas and bring up the RPMs the sound wakes up and sounds awsome. I have had flowmasters 40 series before and to me they are real close in sound to the Magnaflows except for the Magnaflows are louder at the higher RPMS than the Flowmasters. The reason I went with the Magnaflows was I got a good deal on a complete stainless system.

I have si/do flowmaster 40 with deleted rear cats any my grandfather has the exact same truck, but with true dual flowmaster 40s and stock cats. his is much deeper than mine, but mine is louder.

i personally prefer mine over his, but his def is a deeper, more throaty tone.

You can't go wrong with flowmasters or Magnaflow as they both sound and perform well. I personally like the Magnaflow better because it is a straight through design.
