Does your LEER top leak at all?
Just got a Leer top on my new to me 2015 f150. Yesterday we had our first big rain of over an inch since owning it. I had a small amount of water in the corners so I'm wondering if this is the norm?

Is it leaking at the front ( bulkhead area)? I used to sell toppers/shells, whatever they are called these days. We sold Leer, Snug Top and ARE. They all seal very well BUT, trucks that have bed rail caps ( like almost all of the newer trucks do) can leak at the bulkhead because it sits lower than the bed rail caps. We would always put an additional strip of foam weatherstripping on the bulkhead of the bed to prevent leaks. Did your installer do that? Might be the issue if it's leaking there! Mike |

I would dry it up then close yourself in there and have someone hit it with the garden hose. Once you know where it's coming in, maybe take it back and see what they say. Might even be something as simple as tightening down the clamps a little. Let me know what you find out! Mike |
how do i find replacement parts for my topper? That black plastic strip at the bottom of the window, that covers the tailgate is cracked on the driver side. Would love to get a new replacement for it without getting hosed on prices

I would start by contacting the dealer that sold you the top. Next step would be the manufacturer. Please don't be surprised if they try to sell you a whole new back glass. On some ( maybe all NOW) brands, that strip is bonded to the glass. What brand is your top? |

its an ARE and sadly i have no idea where it installed since it came with the truck when i bought it in july. The crack didn't show up until about 2 months after having the truck

I had a SnugTop on my '94 Ranger: no issues, ever.
I put a Leer on my '06 Ranger: Nothing but problems (leaks, bad mpgs) - Leer replaced the entire top w/top-o-the-line: nothing but problems (leaks - 3rd brake light might as well have not been there, water gushed in, as well as in the corners - all 4.) Put a SnugTop on my '13 F150: No issues in 5 years. 'Nuff said. |
