That's good news, caperj. What radio do you have? I've got an XLT with the Sirius radio (non-Nav) which doesn't sound bad but I went with a pair of these from Crutchfield because they were half the price on sale:

I have the same truck and radio as you. I went with these speakers. They are a huge improvement.http://www.crutchfield.com/p_575R168...ime-R1682.html
This was my first time buying from Crutchfield. I love how they sent an instruction booklet to show how to take the door panels off. And, they also give you the little adapter wires so you don't have to cut the speaker wires.

So, for the people that have gotten new speakers are you saying they are a huge improvement over stock equipment?

I changed my fronts out yesterday and I think It's a great improvement over stock. I hate the stock speakers and Alpines have always been good in previous cars so that's the route I took.

so be honest guys, how much hassle was it installing these speakers? I really fear pulling panels off and ending up breaking some snap pin, or having rattles after I finish... but I know they put crap speakers in stock, even with the high end/navi upgrade.

The speakers will take you about 10 minutes or less per door. It is really easy, even for a novice.

To answer another question above, they are much better than stock. I went with Kenwood 6x8 , they have crisp highs, clear mid range and deeper bass than I expected from a small speaker.
