When you put on a CAI you can hear the tone of your engine, it's deeper and almost sounds like exhaust when you give it gas.

I am really curious on how it will sound when I put my cat-back flow masters on Ina couple of weeks ? I am also going to do the SXT 4 with 5 star at the same time. This truck is not my daily driver...just weekends and hunting season...but I can already tell my gas use is going to increase, foot seems to get heavier the better it sounds.

I forgot to post a pic....and a recent update. After a little over a week on the truck: I was getting on the interstate and really jumped on it on the entry ramp when I let off, my engine light came on and would not go off. Temps were fine, no missing...running perfectly. I brought it to work and used a scan tool, and it said 0-2 sensor. I just erased the code and will see if it comes back on...I drove it around at lunch and no issues.

Had this happen with my s&b also make sure your map sensor plug is in the right way and also nice and tight .Mine was in the right way but not snug enough. I used different screws than the ones that came with the cai and now its nice and tight no more issues.Might be the same issue might not

Thanks Buckshot...I will check for tightness. I made damn sure it went in the right way...and I used MAP Sensor cleaner also. Maybe just an anomaly, I will keep an eye on it.

Airaid offers 2 CARB compliant options for your truck: 400-299 and 401-299. Even though you did not specify the year, according to Airaid, the same kits fit '11 thru '14. This is what I have on my truck as I travel through states that recognize the CARB rules. Check it out! airaid.com

I have a K&N 63-2581 on my 2011 5.0 Lariat. Sounds awesome and I belive it added a few horses as well. It was very easy to install too which is a big plus.

I purchased and installed Airaid 401-299. I also installed pre-filter as I live on dirt roads.
I cannot believe how loud this is when applying throttle! You can actually feel it vibrating in your feet and the sound in the cab borders on obnoxious? Vibrates like it's straining to get air threw it. I,m going to try without the pre-filter and see if any difference. Any Ideas? I also did resonator bypass pipe.

Default Vibration Most Likely Caused by Exhaust System

If by bypass you mean that you removed the resonator, that is most likely the source of the vibration and noise, IMO. The engine does have resonance tonals at different RPMs, for my truck around 1800 RPM. With the right tuned exhaust, the tonals are manageable to non-existent. Other guys have discussed the resonance tonal in the exhaust thread. All the CAI does on my truck is sound really throaty when you open the throttle sufficiently, but I have not experienced any of the things you speak about. Have you done anything with the rest of your exhaust system?? BTW, the resonator is a straight- through device; my Gibson system keeps the resonator. The backpressure I believe comes from the stock muffler.
