Default Cold air intake 1997-2003

Hi, this is my first post on a forum so i hope I'm doing it right....
i have a 1999 f150 with the 5.4 triton v8. i want to buy a cold air intake for the it to improve horsepower torque. when i did a google search i was overwhelmed with companies and options for an intake. I am looking to spend around 300 dollars and would like to get the maximum horse power increase. could i get some suggestions of good cold air intakes that are around 300 dollars and increase horse power by a good amount. thank you and again, i apologize if this is in the wrong category, this is my first post.

K&n is always a good pick. It increases horsepower and mpg!

Or just do the gotts mod, it is supposed to do the same for you as a cold air intake, but way cheaper.

I did the K&N and like it a lot, they say the gotts mod does the same thing. I got a good deal on mine on c.l. And I think it was a good purchase looks good sounds great and picked up at least 1 mpg

I did the gotts mod a few weeks ago. The first time i drove it i could feel a difference in acceleration. I have not had the chance to see if it improved my mpg though. The last time i checked it i was getting 15 mpg but that was with good driving habits.
