Can the bakflips still be opened by a coat hanger, or did they change the pull-wire system

It can be opened with a drill and a hole saw.

I just installed a Bakflip F1 a couple of weeks ago and there is a small opening, about 1/4", between the tailgate and bed cover. I haven't tried but I imagine with enough skill you'd be able to fish a coat hanger in there and pull on the release cable. Like ArthurJGuy said if someone wants to get in, they'll get in. Pull-wire release or no pull-wire release.

Any cover can be pried open if someone really want's to get in.
