Default Bumper Project

Started my long awaited bumper project finally. Took me about a week so far to build it to this point. Pretty happy so far, still needs: winch, lights, and grill/headlight gaurd bars, and of course powdercoat.

Thanks,

I really like where you're going with that. Just curious; it looks like it's sticking out pretty far. Is this a clearance issue or did you just want the extra depth? It might be the angle, but to me I think it would look a little better if it were closer to the grill. Not knocking it at all though, I really like.

Thanks guys. Ya there are a few different things at play here. I made it stick out further than the stock one for a winch inside the bumper, also here it was not actually welded onto the mounts yet, I just set it up there, got it close and snapped a quick picture. It is closer to the grill now that it is welded onto the mounts in place. The picture was a quick one, so it could be that as well.

Thanks,

Thank you very much. I did think about doing Line-X, but I was not sure if it would look good after it gets faded by the sun, and how hard it would be to keep clean after getting it covered with mud or something?

Thanks

YOUR BACK!!!!

Pretty sick dude.. Definitely post alot of pictures! Front, side, under views... I've been debating on building a bumper for my truck since mine is jacked up.. and I could build a bumper just like that for free. I wanted to do a prerunner bumper but no pipe bender and I want something a little beefy...

So post more pictures please!!

Hey man, Ya I am back building more. HAHA, Ya I was looking at bumpers for so long, but could not justify $1000+ for one of these bumpers, so after some planning and AutoCAD drawings I decided to take it on. I do understand however why they cost so much. The man hours of trimming, fitting, tacking, trimming some more are crazy. I will definatley get more pictures of the bumper from all views. The whole thing is 3/16" plate with all 1/4" mounts. Should withstand quite a bit. I had a prerunner bumper on my other truck before I sold it. We have a tubing bender so that made it a lot easier of course. HAHA. Its still a ways from done, but the base of the bumper (hardest part) is pretty close anyway. Hey man your banged up bumper is the perfect reason to start a new project, as if we needed reasons. HAHA.

Take it Easy,
Kc
Thanks

For sure man! Your truck and the mods done to it are by far 1 of my favorites.. just cause your an average joe (no offense) and building your truck up within time. Some have the cash to toss it all into the truck right away.

Anyways, I can get steel for free to build my bumper, and if I had measurements I could definitely get the pieces cut but they would not be perfect. My shop my grandpa works at has torch burners, not lazer cut. So it would take alot of trimming and cutting to get pieces perfect. But I was thinking about 1/2 mounts and braces then 1/8" but 3/16" sounds good too. I'll wait to see how yours looks first.. I'm still debating on the whole Road Armor bulky look on our year trucks... or prerunner. Your my final decision!! lol.
