Build Right Dash Mount and USB Power Socket

Build Right Dash Mount and USB Power Socket
I ordered a 'BuiltRight' dash mount for my 16' screw. After getting it mocked up I REALLY didn't like the look (and function) of having the cigarette lighter powered cables draping over the center dash. So, I decided to add in a 2x USB 4amp socket to the tray itself.
After bolting everything together I found that the tray was kinda bouncy when I plugged and unplugged cables. I know it's only a plastic tray, but it made the whole process feel very cheap.
I drew up a backing plate, cut it out on the cnc plasma in 1/8 aluminum plate, scuffed everything, and used some d8005 epoxy to bond them together. The tray is now super stiff and now there is no bouncing when you swap out cables.
I pulled apart the dash and spliced into the power wires coming of the bottom cigarette lighter socket, so it behaves just like they do as far as auto-shutdown goes.
For the life of me I could't find any glue that would hold down the rubber OEM pad to the tray. Without some kind of adhesion, the mat would pucker quite noticeably when everything was tightened down. I ended up scuffing the floor of the tray, making some deep dimples with a wood burning pen, and spraying it with raptor liner. The sheen will get knocked down a bit after a few months in the sun. With the dash already a grey-ish black, the color match can only get better with a little fading.

I see. I have the BuiltRight dash mount also, with the RAM mounting hardware. I mainly use it to hold a phone running navigation. My dash cam is mounted up by my rear view mirror. I‘m thinking of adding a radar detector. The power outlet up there is a great idea to avoid cords running all over.

How to?
What resource/resources did you use to find appropriate parts and wiring setup? I’m really new to modifying any vehicles but want to run the BuiltRight Ind mount as well without the dangling wires.
