Firestone Tires & Leer Topper
I have replace the BF "Rugged Trail" tires with Firestone Destination A/T. The new tires thus far have proved to have better traction, require less stopping distance and are quieter on the highway. They stand almost an inch higher as well, both are 265/75/18.
Was a bit apprehensive on floor jack placement, as I put jack stands under the truck to do all 4 tires at once. Found the front cross bar to work, was concerned it may bend, and used the the rear differential for the back tires. It worked out well enough, any do or don'ts on jack use for the 2006 are welcomed.
Special ordered a Leer topper the other day so my loving Golden Retreiver can ride in the back without freezing his paws off. I plan on mounting a Buddy heater to a piece of OSB and he should be good to go. Dog prolly don't need the extra heat, but wouldn't tell me if he did. (Hasn't been above 0 since I been home, been lingering around -15)
Tax return, lol, I had the year "Tax Free" because of deployment, will go in part for a brush guard and off road lights. Wife jokes that nothing is ever good enough, and I always have to add-on, I retorte that she shoulda had it all taken care of before I got home.

Hmmm, perhaps I like the truck better than the dog? Have to think about that for a bit. Topper hasn't arrived yet. Will add photo soon. The lighting conditions outside aren't quite right yet for pictures.
