Default Which is the best Cold Air Intake for the 5.0L?

I know there are several threads on cold air intakes, but many of them are several years old and are covering all engines. What cold air intakes have worked the best for people just doing the intake and not throttle body spacers or anything of that nature? I'm considering an intake for better throttle response, and maybe a mile or two better MPG. Thank you all for your time!

you'll see very little gain and doubt any increase in mpg. get a tune instead

The only HP gains you'll see are at wide open throttle (foot to the floor.) Basically you'll just be buying it for the looks in the engine bay, the sound, and an air filter that you can clean and re-use.

Would you get more gain by upgrading exhaust?

There isn't much gain with exhaust either. A tune is the best bang for the buck!

BTW I have a Airaid Jr intake. Only for looks and to be able to run the Mustang engine cover. The highflow filter with the tube made so much noise i removed the filter and out the stock filter back in. It uses the stock airbox and just changes the filter and tube.

I have and did the same thing, but no tune. I have a Borla 40842S and I didn't get any extra noise from my Airaid synthamax filter, but it felt a little bogged down low at times, so I replaced that filter with a AEM dry drop in panel filter and absolutely love it.

Your stock intake already draws cooler air than any other aftermarket cold air intake

Good information. Thank you all that responded. I'll check into the engine tuning that you all are talking about. I live in the desert, so all that dust will likely jam up the open design air intakes. Will the drop in K&N oiled filter do anything for me? Or just give me a reusable air filter?
