the 77 series does have one problem with the 4.6 motor.
it make a a loud airhorn sound at certan rpm's because of the fact that k&n tells you to replace a breather box with hose, and this is what makes the noise.
so far k&n has done nothing to fix my problem except send me more parts that I already have.....
i still like that filter

cold air intake
I made my intake myself and I love it. The only part I bought was the K&N filter to put on the end of it.
All I did was have one of my buddies get me a scrap piece of aluminum intake tube from a Hummvee with a snorkel kit. He also got me the rubber hump-hoses to hook it up too. All i had to do was make a bracket to bolt up to where the stock filter bolts on.
All I did was take a DA (or you could use an orbital sander) and sand off the green paint that uncle sam put on and polished it up inside and out and it was ready to go.
It wasnt that hard to make and the polished aluminum looks pretty good under the hood. I may throw a clear coat on it just so it wont corrode or anything. But if you do buy an intake from K&N or Injen or someone thats all you get. You wind up paying $60 for the air filter and $200 for an aluminum tube.
