Default Bed Rails

Hey all,

Looking at maybe putting some nice black bed rails on my 14' black appearance package fx4.

Looking around for some pics of similar trucks with bed rails but can't seem to find many. Are they a thing of the past? lol

Anyways, any brand you guys recommend? I was looking at the Putco ones which seem pretty nice. Any other good brands?

Thanks

I just received my putco black rails from autoanything. My truck is race red with the 5.5 box. Give me a few days when I'm finally off work and I'll give ya some pics.

Ok, words of advice, DONT DO IT!!! They r expensive for what they r. They r cheap, they look good, but r worthless. I got the black putco's in two weeks ago. Installed one side, instructions say 27 lbs of torque. I had torque wrench set at 20, damn bolt went right through. Just got new end caps today, warranty, got one side installed, yes they look great, but aren't strong at all.
When I was emailing autoanything and putco about warranty, I asked putco why the black end caps r made from plastic and the chrome ones made from metal, he didn't know why. He said that would probably never change either. I don't understand why just bc we want black over chrome, that they have to b cheap and useless. The only good way of doing this, and expensive, would b to buy the metal boss lockers and have then powdercoated black, that's the only way you will get a descent bed rail worth anything!!!

27 lbs/ft just seems very excessive ... I searched the installation instructions thinking maybe it said 27 lbs/in ... Still can't wrap my head around that.
