BDS 6" Lift Kit Question

What I was saying was it be the equivalent to running a level on a 4” lift. If it’s only a 4” drop bracket, then it’s only giving 4” of lift, but it’s being stretched to 6”. Or in your case being stretched to 6.5”. Which would be the equivalent of running a 2.5” level on a stock height truck.

It looks like the mounts are the same. At least from the pics of the shocks on RC website. IMO, it doesn’t make sense for ford to use use different lower A-arms and different shock towers for 2WD and 4wd trucks. But I can’t be sure since I don’t have a 2WD truck. I bet it’s actually the same shocks for both applications. When I was looking at the shocks, I noticed the shocks for the 2WD said they’d also fit a 4wd truck, but ride and inch lower. They probably ride and inch lower due to the 4wd weighing more. So, if you crank the shocks all the way down to the lowest ride height, which is 5.5” for a 4wd, which would turn into 6.5” for a 2WD, you should get 6.5” of lift. I’d imagaine give or take a half inch to compensate for deviations in production. Only real way to know is to mount them up and see. Be on the look out for eBay coupons. I just picked up my shocks form and authorized distributor on eBay for $899. eBay had a 15% off coupon max value of $100. Bought them Tuesday and they showed up today.

The linc is being funny and linking my address to it. They eBay seller is called levelingsolutions.
I have the eBay app and ebay sent me an email about the 15% coupon. But you have to act quickly because they have a time limit on them, and usually max out at. $100 off. I ended up going with vertex over fox for several reasons. I have a few friends who switched from fox coilovers to vertex and love them! They didn’t have the fox dsc shocks, so it might not be a fair comparison. I was also having trouble sourcing them. The shop that will do the install was telling me the fox shocks were temporary back ordered. And that the lead time for dsc was even longer. That was a few weeks ago though. Plus, I figured with the savings of the coupon, I was willing to try the vertex out for $900. If they work well, great! If not, I personally have nothing to compare them to so I’ll nver know

Ok so let me start this off by saying I'm just getting into the whole lifting thing. I honestly was gonna leave my truck stock height or do spacers at the most until I saw a 6" lift and just loved the look. I've been doing my research and BDS seems like the go to lift kit. I have a 2015 F150 XLT, Supercab for reference. So I was pretty much set in buying the lift kit, until some extra accessories popped up. The Fox 2.0 shocks was a no brainer, but then comes the Upper Control Arm add on option. Now its an extra $750, so I was hesitant at first, but I'm hearing that I'm definitely gonna want it, since the stock one isn't gonna pair too well with the lift. There's also a carrier bearing drop kit for $50 which I'm not too sure if I need that either, (sorry for being a noob lol.) Basically I just wanna know from you guys if I should get the UCA, and if there are any other components that I'm gonna need along with it that BDS doesn't offer. Just looking for some advice really, and keep in mind my truck is gonna be mostly a pavement princess, however I'll for sure be taking her offroad every now and then for fun. Any advice is welcome, as I am open to suggestions and just don't want to be putting garbage on my truck that I'm gonna have to replace sooner than later. Oh yeah, here's the link for the exact lift kit I'm looking at buying on the website: http://bds-suspension.com/kit-customizer?kid=1506H
I believe the carrier bearing drop kit is for trucks with a two-piece driveshaft if I remember right. I have a 1-piece so I didn't get it. There shouldn't be anything else you need. I ordered straight from BDS as well. Actually I take that back. IF you are not using a spacer and plan on getting coilovers I recommend getting the spanner wrench to adjust the coilovers. You can then dial in your ride height with the coilovers installed on the truck. My coilovers had lifted my truck 7.5" out of the box so I had to take .75" of preload out of the spring collar to get down to 6".
Also about the warranty. BDS has a 5/60 warranty you can sign up for when you buy. It's free and it covers anything related to your lift. Which also happens to be the only thing Ford can technically deny you on your factory warranty, stuff failing related to the lift.

It depends how hardcore you are going to be off-roading, it at all. IMO the stock UCA are absolutely fine unless you're going to be into some serious terrain. Photo below of my UCA at 6" of lift. Angle looks perfect to me.
