Aux in Bed Gas Tank Recommendations?

Yep......a fireman buddy of mine said he would hate to "work a fire" including my F350 that had the 50 gal aux diesel tank. i suppose gasoline is even more volatile.
I think what I am going to do is install the tank with the intention of using it only when "necessary," but not routinely.....like on long trips or in the case of anticipated power outage etc. The reason for this is that I am putting in a bed slide and need to install the proper length slide. I would hate to put in a full length slide and THEN wish I had an aux tank!
