Anybody running brake caliper covers? Thoughts?
I hate my nasty looking brake calipers but don't feel like painting them. Been thinking about bolt on covers but worried about noise, brakes overheating, etc!
Im running 20x9 XD Heist wheels with 10 spokes. Low gloss black with milled spoke edges. I'm seeing a little more of those calipers than I care to.
Opinions please!
Mike

Iron X? Is this a parts store product or a specialty item. I'd rather they look new than painted or covered.

I've heard mixed reviews on the caliper covers. I think they're too expensive and I don't care for the look. I'm not familiar with Iron X so I can't comment on that one. I prefer the painted or powder coated look. I don't want to take mine off to go get them powder coated and I didn't want to do the exchange for a powder coated set so I'm going with G2 caliper paint for my build. It's a two part epoxy that seems to last a while.

I added black MGP covers w/ Ford logo on mine....Lariat w/ 20" wheels. Had dealer install them when they swapped out my "chrome-popped" factory wheels under warranty claim & they didn't charge me for install.
Found a screamin' deal on Amazonia & couldn't resist. Methinks somebody screwed up the price listing 'cause I've never seen them that low $$ on any site over the last 10-months.
The covers definitely prevent brake dust build-up on the wheels.
Recently after I had the wheels rotated & oil changed I noticed/heard a slight scraping noise --> (not the dreaded IWE noise)--> a well placed tap with a hammer & wooden dowel on the face of the cover re-aligned the one that was rubbing inside of wheel and all's good again.

MGP Ford Logo with the 18" OEM Sport wheels. Had them installed when I swapped out the stock tires for the Toyo AT2's. No problems and I'm happy with "The Look."

If the G2 paint doesn't hold up, that's what I'm going with.
