The mass air flow sensor runs into problems because it contains a hot wire and a cold wire, and based on the temparature differences(the more air the cooler the hot wire gets), which is translated by voltage, the truck can estimate how much fuel is needed to reach the ideal stiochiometric air/fuel ratio.

Once you get oil on the wire it affects the voltage passing through, and therefore you get problems. Basically you not supposed to soak a filter in oil, but rather put a little residue on it. When people run into problems it is typically because the over oiled thier filter, take for instance the guy I was helping last weekend, his filter had so much oil it was almost dripping off. If you oil it to the reccomended specs then you should be fine.

Sorry Mr. B your right about my question. I shouldn't type about one thing and thing about something else. I think everyone has answered my questions though. I'm going to go with either the K&N or the AF1. Not sure which yet but those seem to be the two that I find the most positive input when I did a search on the topic.

I have volant cold air intake that's oiled and I can say for oiled that I don't know anybody that has used a dry filter that has said anything good about them

and for the leveling kit:

if you're looking for a leveling meaning dropping the back and if you want to stay with your warranty (ford parts) go with this link for $109

http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=7815

or you can go 2" in front and 5" in the back but more expensive
