plus changed a few settings in the RCM and FCIM based on using VIN 1FTEX1EP6FFC82325 (a 2.7L 2015 F150 XL with cruise) as a comparison in AS Built Hacker. I'm not sure if these did anything though, because I did it before doing the above, so try the above first.
I carried my laptop to work today & activated the cruise on our '15 XL - All that is required are the SCCM, IPC, & BCM changes.

I suspected as much since RCM & FCIM are for the radio & front controls.... couldn't see where that would effect the cruise one way or the other.

So I have the 2015 F-150 3.5 ecoboost XL and it didn't come with cruise control. I swapped the steering wheel with one that has cruise control and followed all the steps suggested. When I clicked to make "write code" it says it processed the change, and turn off key / turn back on. When I did that, the codes showing weren't what I put in. After I tried several times, I noticed the codes kept changing. Do you have any suggestions?
Also, there was a IPC ASBUILT option and then just a IPC option. The regular option had a cruise control option, and all I did to that was enable it. Still nothing showed up to show that the cruise control was enabled.
thanks a lot.

are you writing and applying the changes to each module one at a time? ( ie change the SCCM data then apply changes & cycle the ignition before moving to another module)

Yes. I apply the changes. It shoots from zero to 100%, says complete, prompts you to cycle ignition and click ok. That’s what I did. Unless there was another step I am missing. After I did that I moved on to the next one.

That's strange, I had no issues making the changes on the '15 XL I did. @Livnitup is the king of all things FORScan, maybe he can help you.

I'm in the same boat as the OP but with a 2017 XL. I'd love to add cruise control. It looks like I just need the $30 cruise control module for the steering wheel (FL3Z-9C888-AA) and then use the PC version of FORScan to code in the SCCM, IPC, & BCM changes. schweinzz21, did you ever figure out why the values didn't save on your truck?

I'll answer my own question and hopefully leave this for the next guy. I was incorrect about the module since the base wheel does not have a way of connecting it. You need a new steering wheel. I figured I might as well go with the $130 leather wheel instead of the $100 vinyl one. Part # HL3Z-3600-DB for leather. There's a youtube video that shows how to remove and reinstall the airbag and wheel.

As for programming, I found the VIN of a truck identical to mine except it had the 101A package and compared the changes recommended above and the spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...#gid=815852466.

There are only TWO changes that need to be made:
BCM 726-13-01 xxx8 xxxx xx--
SCCM 724-03-01 11xx xxxx --

My BCM was a "4" instead of an "8" and my SCCM was a "10" instead of "11". These jive with the spreadsheet.

*Bonus* The new steering wheel comes with audio and voice controls on the right side. I don't think the base head unit is capable of voice but if you change the 3rd and 4th values in SCCM to "23", you now get steering wheel audio controls. This makes SCCM 724-03-01 1123 xxxx --

Thumbs up

I'll add to kapps post...

I own a 2016 Ford F-150 XL (100A package, no cruise/power anything). I now have working cruise control and audio controls; here is what I had to do:
.
  • Purchase a new steering wheel, p/n HL3Z-3600-DB (note: fitment on online parts fiches lists only 2017-2018 compatibility - it works just fine with the 2016). This is the 'premium' wheel with leather, without heated wheel, without sync. I paid roughly ~$180 CAD.
  • Purchase an ELM327 OBD2 to USB scanner from Amazon, p/n VINT-TT55502. I paid $32.99 CAD. (note: the MS/HS switch was backwards from what the included instructions said it was)
  • Downloaded FORScan version 2.3.15 beta for Windows and activated the required extended license (read about it here: http://forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=836)
  • Referenced the spreadsheet that kapps posted (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...#gid=815852466)
  • Followed kapps instructions for the changes to the BCM and SCCM (note: backups of the original BCM and SCCM were made before I changed ANY values. After changing the BCM I wrote the changes and power cycled the key before moving onto the SCCM):

  • With the software now updated, I disconnected the negative battery terminal using a 10mm socket, and waited 15minutes for the truck to discharge
    • While waiting for the truck to discharge I watched this helpful YT video on how to change out the steering wheel
  • You'll need a 15/16 socket to remove the steering wheel bolt
  • Installed the new wheel and torqued the steering wheel bolt to 34nM
  • Went for a test drive with the biggest stupidest grin on my face, because everything worked PERFECTLY
Hope this helps guys, good luck on your future swaps!!

Hi,

Can this be done on a 2018 F150 XL w/100a (base option package). From what I have read above you would need a replacement steering wheel with switches preinstalled, and then a PC program to modify 2 software codes. Is all the other necessary cruise control hardware already installed in the truck from the factory?

Thank you,
Ken
