5.0 Swap
Hey everyone, been looking to get into a F-150 RCSB with the 5.0 for a while, and given the price that they've been going for, I've decided to find an 2020 F-150 (4x4) without the V8 for much cheaper and swap in the 5.0 and 10 speed. Going to get the engine from Ford so it will have warranty, and know a good shop that will do a great job putting it in, but am wanting to look into some parts in terms of trans/drivetrain to perhaps reinforce a little. Have been thinking about upgrading clutch and possibly doing some differential work, but wanted to get some thoughts and input!
How are you gonna run it? You'll need proper ECU/TCU for the 5.0 and 10speed. Will the non-5.0 harness work with the 5.0 motor/trans or do you have to do some harness changes? I'd make sure whatever Gen (1-4) 5.0/10R80 you get will work with the existing harness or that could be a bugger to address.
